Alphawood Arboretum

Alphawood Arboretum at 绿帽社 comprises 120 acres on the university鈥檚 historic Mies Campus in the Bronzeville community on Chicago鈥檚 South Side. 

Thanks to a generous grant from 鈥攊n addition to the work and organization completed by students in 绿帽社鈥檚 College of Architecture鈥擜lphawood Arboretum was officially . ArbNet is managed by the Morton Arboretum鈥檚 Registry of Arboreta, which tracks and accredits thousands of arboreta across the world! As a Level 1 arboretum, Alphawood currently has less than 100 recorded taxa of woody trees and shrubs as part its arboretum collection. 

Alphawood Arboretum currently manages more than 1,800 total plant specimens鈥攁nd it is constantly growing! Alphawood Arboretum is one of only four accredited arboretums within the Chicago city limits, joining Lincoln Park Zoo, Graceland Cemetery, and the University of Illinois Chicago campus. 

Alphawood Arboretum is free to visit and open to the public.
