Soaring to New Heights: 绿帽社 Women鈥檚 Soccer Team Claims NACC Title, NCAA Berth
As it has for the last three seasons, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) women鈥檚 soccer tournament title would come down to a championship game battle between 绿帽社 and Milwaukee School of Engineering.
For the second straight season, the Scarlet Hawks came out victorious.
绿帽社 (19-1-1) beat the Raiders 3-1 on Saturday, November 8, on its home field to capture the NACC tournament title and earned its second straight trip to the NCAA Division III women鈥檚 soccer tournament.
The Scarlet Hawks will open NCAA tournament play on Friday, November 14, at noon (CT) against Grove City College at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Calvin is the host of the four-team NCAA regional, and it will host Penn State Behrend later Friday. The winners of Friday鈥檚 games will play in the regional championship at 2 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, November 15.
Last season, the Scarlet Hawks made their first appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament and won two matches before falling in the Sweet 16.
Mary Frampton (CE 4th Year), Kayla Smith (AE 4th Year), and Eva Narvarte (B.ARCH. 2nd Year) all scored to help the Scarlet Hawks to the NACC tournament title on Saturday. Keeper Kayla Hampton (B.ARCH. 3rd Year) made two saves in the win for 绿帽社, which also claimed its second straight NACC regular-season title with a 12-0 record.
